Kitchenhand

Kitchenhands help kitchen and service staff in commercial eating venues such as cafes or restaurants. They help with food preparation and make sure everything is clean and sanitised.

Day-to-day

  • Clean kitchens and food preparation areas
  • Clean cooking and general utensils used in kitchens and restaurants such as cutlery or dishes
  • Wash, peel and chop vegetables or fruit
  • Transfer, weigh and check supplies and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, and prepare salads, savouries and sandwiches
  • Set up food and beverage trays for serving to customers
  • Cook, toast and heat food items as needed
  • Make sure kitchen area is clean and meets hygiene standards
