Drivers transport passengers in vehicles (for example, car, taxi, bus, charter) for sightseeing, educational and other tours and transportation purposes. They maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring all operations are timely, professional and safe.
Day-to-day
- Drive passenger vehicles in a safe and comfortable manner according to road conditions and legislative requirements
- Use public address systems to provide information and tour commentaries to passengers
- Ensure security of the vehicle and passenger luggage
- Brief customers on general safety procedure at the beginning of the journey and specify safety procedures throughout the tour according to location requirements
- Ensure all passengers understand the itinerary regarding timings, or activities on tours and journeys
- Answer any passenger queries
- Coordinate group requirements with suppliers, such as accommodation venues, caterers, attractions and communicating with reservations staff
